I'm determined (I say this every year) to make this year something awesome. It is my last year of uni for goodness sake, gotta live for at least a second before going to full time work. That's if I even get a job at the end of my degree. Cry cry cry.
The biggest plan that I've made this year is Florida in October. Yay Disneyland/Universal and my birthday in one month! Let's exclude that month or I'll be a really poor graduate. The first instinct is to travel, who doesn't want to travel the world, discover places, people and culture. It's kinda what we live for.
This year might be the year of festivals for me. Low key festivals that are affordable and reachable. So far I've got FrightFest at GFF in February/March. Watching horror for a whole weekend - please and thank you! As I've kinda got a dissertation due in April, I'm going to exclude that month too.
As always, the Edinburgh International film and Fringe festival will be coming up in July/August. I'm going to try my best to be part or visit these festivals too. Until you've seen and been to Edinburgh during a festival, don't doubt it's potential for a great weekend away. The city comes alive with performances down the Royal Mile, cool bars appear out of nowhere and everyone seems a lot more friendlier.
Maybe push it further and try to head to London to FrightFest in September. I'm a big fan of horror!
One day I hope for something similar to happen for Aberdeen. Film/theatre/music - ANYTHING.
